ST8 of Calm · The Mind-Body Studio
Mobility, breath and a genuine reset — taught in a dedicated studio, at whatever level you walk in with.
01 · What it does
Yoga at ST8 is a taught class, not a video you half-follow at home. Every posture is offered at several levels, so the same session works for a first-timer and for someone ten years in.
Hips, shoulders and thoracic spine — the three places a working day quietly stiffens. Undoing that is most of what the first months are.
Breath control is the first thing taught and the thing that changes how everything else feels. It follows you out of the room, into sleep and into stress.
Holds, balances and slow transitions build real strength through the whole range of a joint — with nothing to jump off and nothing to land on.
Restorative and cooling practices are built into the week, not bolted on. Members come for the flexibility and stay for the sleep.
You leave with a short home sequence you will actually keep. Consistency beats intensity here, and the plan is built around that.
02 · Your first class
You need no experience, no flexibility and no kit. Mats and props are provided — blocks, straps and bolsters — and your coach will hand you whatever makes a posture work for your body today rather than the one you think you should have. Expect a warm-up, a standing sequence built at your pace, some floor work, and a proper rest at the end.
Wear something you can fold and stretch in — leggings or joggers and a t-shirt. Classes are practised barefoot. Come a little empty rather than full; two hours after a meal is about right. And if a posture is not for you on a given day, sitting it out is a normal part of the class, not a failure.
03 · At ST8
Yoga lives in our Mind-Body studio as ST8 of Calm, on a dedicated floor it shares with Mat Pilates (ST8 of Balance) and Aerial Yoga (ST8 of Grace). It is coached in group classes that stay beginner friendly all the way through — not a drop-in room where you are left to copy the person in front.
It is structured like every other discipline here: fixed batch, named coach, and a progress check-in every two months recorded on the ST8 app, so the practice is something you can see moving rather than something you hope is working. Many members pair it with Pilates — yoga for breath and range, Pilates for the deep core underneath it.
04 · Memberships
Yoga is its own plan — ST8 of Calm, ₹2,500/month for three sessions a week, or ₹3,000/month for five. GST included, no admission or registration fee. Your first class is free, so try the room before you decide anything.
05 · FAQs
No — that is the thing yoga builds, not the thing it asks for. Every posture is offered at several levels and props are there to bring the floor closer to you. Most people who join have never been to a class.
Three is where most people start, and it is enough to change how you move. Five suits you if yoga is your main training rather than a supplement, or if you are working on specific postures where frequency is what gets you there. An unused five-day plan is not better value than a fully used three-day one.
Yourself. Mats, blocks, straps and bolsters are provided. Wear something you can fold and stretch in; classes are practised barefoot. Leave a couple of hours after a full meal.
It is yoga — breath, posture and attention, taught in sequence. Flexibility is one outcome. Breath control, balance, strength through range and a nervous system that settles are the others, and for most members those are the ones that end up mattering.
Yoga works breath, range and stillness; Pilates works deep core, spinal articulation and control under load. They are complementary rather than interchangeable, and plenty of members hold both. If your back or neck complains after a working day, start with Pilates.
